Pilgrimages to Lourdes

Lourdes is a bustling French town in the heart of the Pyrenees and is well worth a visit at any time of year.  In the summer it is bursting at the seams with pilgrims and tourists from all over the world, but in the winter the crowds depart and the streets are very quiet.

The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes is open all year round so if you wanted to visit alone or as a family group you will always find the grotto, where Bernadette experienced her visions, - open and welcoming.

The pilgrimage season runs from the beginning of April to the end of October. This is the time when the daily processions and International Mass take place.  Pilgrimages from all over the world join together at these ceremonies.

This website is intended to provide a thorough induction for helpers who volunteer their services on pilgrimages.  It has the full support of UK pilgrimage insurers.
